Back from India !

We are now back from India and the Techfest exhibition… I must say we had a great time there ! At least 1000 persons came on the booth for explanations and demos about BCI and there applications including helping disabled people and videogames. I have been really excited by the attention that visitors had to our talk and demos. Also we had great questions and very technical and advanced discussions, even with younger visitors ; amazing…

I will post the most frequently asked questions in separated threads.

Amazing audience #2

Amazing audience...

On a technical point of view, Laurent did most of the demonstrations, having the cap installed almost all day long. We were pretty surprised by the good results of the demos. Indeed, the first two days, we demonstrated the xDAWN P300 speller with our g.Tec’s gUSBamp (16 active channels). As usual, we had to calibrate the system twice in the first 30 minutes. This is due to the contacts getting better over time while the gel is spreading among the hairs. These two calibrations done Laurent only had to recalibrate 2 or 3 times for the whole day. Even removing the cap for lunch and putting it back seemed to give pretty good results thanks to the spatial filtering. More impressive is the last day, we showcased an xDAWN based version of the P300 magic card demo. It has been calibrated twice at 9 and 9:30 in the morning and Laurent used it all day long without recalibration, even after lunch !

So… Many thanks to the French Embassy in India and the Techfest organizers for giving us that opportunity to present our work and meet this valuable audience ! And to all OpenViBE users from India, see you on the forum 😉 I look forward to your demos & contributions !
